Shopify SEO app pricing for stores with 500 or more products, by AI limit and catalog size

For a Shopify store with 500 or more products, an SEO app that writes AI meta tags for the whole catalog costs about $25 to $100 a month. Smart SEO Business at $24.99 covers 500 products a month, Smart SEO Premium at $49.99 covers 1,200 or unlimited with your own AI key, and SearchPie Enterprise at $99 generates 5,000 AI tags. No app prices by product count; the AI or scan limit decides your plan.

Every price here was read on the Shopify App Store listing of each app on 8 October 2026, from a US connection, where the listings say all charges are billed in USD every 30 days. The roundups ranking for this question quote different prices for the same app and never say which plan a 2,000 product store actually needs. That is the number this post works out.

One thing to keep in mind as you read. A bulk app treats your best collection the same as your slowest variant. If you want to see what a rewrite built from an audit of one money page looks like, paste a collection URL and its keyword below. No account needed.

Monthly list prices. Each cell is the cheapest plan whose limit covers an AI meta pass over that many products within a month or two. Yearly billing takes 17 to 20 percent off on the apps that offer it.

How the rows are built. We count one AI generation or tag per product meta description, which is the most generous reading; if an app spends one unit on the title and another on the description, double the time. Smart SEO puts AI bulk meta on Business (500 a month) and Premium (1,200, or unlimited with your own key). SearchPie fills every page by template from the free Starter plan up and adds 5,000 AI tags on Enterprise. Avada sells AI credits, 1,000 on Pro and 10,000 on Enterprise, but the listing does not say how many credits one meta description uses. Plug in SEO meters pages scanned, so the plan follows the size of the store including collections and blog posts. SEO Manager lists AI content generation on Professional without a quota, and Yoast's Shopify listing shows no AI writing on Premium at all; AI+ at $45 adds AI visibility tracking, not bulk writing.

Which plan a growing Shopify store actually needs

Around 500 products, Smart SEO Business at $24.99 is hard to beat. One month of AI generations covers the catalog, and the bulk alt text and image file names come in the same plan. Avada Pro at $34.95 is the alternative if image compression is the bigger problem.

At 2,000 products, you choose between time and money. Smart SEO Premium at $49.99 gets there in about two months on its own quota, or in one if you plug in your own AI key and pay that provider. SearchPie Enterprise at $99 does it in one month and throws in schema and speed work. If you do not yet know what is wrong with the store, Plug in SEO Premium at $79.99 scans every page before anything is rewritten.

At 5,000 products and up, no plan's own AI quota covers a full pass in one month except Smart SEO with your own key. Most stores this size template the long tail (the SearchPie and Smart SEO templates are included from their low plans) and spend AI only on products that sell. The catalog itself becomes the bigger problem at this size: half the product pages that slip in rankings are out of stock. Inventory forecasting software that keeps the best sellers in stock usually protects more search traffic than any SEO app.

The cost no app listing shows, reviewing what the AI wrote

An app can write 2,000 meta descriptions overnight. Someone still has to decide whether to trust them. At 20 seconds a product, a skim of 2,000 descriptions is about 11 hours; a careful read is several days. Most stores skip the review on the long tail, which is reasonable, and then apply the same blind trust to the 40 collections that bring most of the orders, which is not.

Those pages fail in ways a template cannot see. A collection called "Rain Shell" ranks at position 12 for "lightweight waterproof jacket women" because nothing on the page uses the words people search. A best seller's description repeats the supplier's copy that 30 other stores also use. A product title leads with a model number nobody types. Fixing those needs a look at what actually ranks for the query, and that is a different job from filling fields.

Where SEOMake fits next to a bulk SEO app

SEOMake is not a bulk app and will not write meta for 5,000 products. It audits one live collection or product against its keyword, scores it, shows the evidence for each issue and writes the corrected SEO title, meta description, outline and opening, plus a 400 to 700 word draft of missing sections on paid plans. When you approve the fix, SEOMake writes the title and meta into the Shopify search engine listing through the Admin API, reads back what Shopify stored, and keeps the old text for one-click undo.

So the sensible stack for a big store is one bulk app for the long tail and SEOMake for the pages where position matters: the collections and the products Search Console shows at 5 to 30. The connection takes a custom app with three scopes and about five minutes; the steps and a side by side of the six apps are on our AI SEO tools for Shopify page, and the field by field checklist is on Shopify SEO.

Plans are $49 a month for 20 drafted fixes, $149 for 100 and $499 for 500, with audits unlimited and publishing to Shopify on every paid plan. A store working through its top collections usually starts on Starter. Details on SEOMake pricing.

Questions merchants ask before picking a Shopify SEO app

Which Shopify SEO app is best for large catalogs?

For filling AI meta tags across 2,000 to 5,000 products, Smart SEO Premium at $49.99 a month is the cheapest per product if you connect your own AI key, and SearchPie Enterprise at $99 covers 5,000 AI tags. Plug in SEO is the better choice when you want an audit of the whole store first, with unlimited page scans on Premium at $79.99.

Do Shopify SEO apps charge per product?

Not directly. None of the six apps we read prices by product count. They meter something else, AI generations, AI credits, AI tags or pages scanned, and that limit is what pushes a large catalog onto a higher plan. Read the limit, then divide your products and collections by it to see how many months the first pass takes.

Are Shopify SEO apps worth it?

For a store with hundreds of products and empty search listings, yes: $25 to $100 a month fills fields that would take a person weeks. They are worth much less on the pages that decide revenue, because a template cannot know what the ranking pages say. Most growing stores pair one bulk app with focused work on collections.

How much does Smart SEO cost for a big store?

Smart SEO lists Pro at $14.99 a month, Business at $24.99 and Premium at $49.99, with yearly plans about 17 percent cheaper. AI bulk meta tags start on Business, which allows 500 AI generations a month. Premium allows 1,200, or unlimited generations if you connect your own AI provider key and pay that provider separately.

Is SearchPie or Smart SEO cheaper for 2,000 products?

Smart SEO is cheaper on the sticker: Premium is $49.99 a month against $99 for SearchPie Enterprise. At 1,200 AI generations a month, Smart SEO needs about two months for 2,000 products unless you use your own AI key. SearchPie Enterprise does it in one month within its 5,000 AI tags, and adds schema and speed tools.
