Audit my page
01 / FOR SHOPIFY

AI SEO tools for Shopify and the Shopify AI SEO app that publishes fixes to collection and product listings

Paste a collection or product URL and the keyword it should win. SEOMake compares the page with what ranks, scores it and writes the SEO title, meta description, outline and missing sections. Connect the store and every fix you approve goes straight into the Shopify search engine listing, with the old text kept for undo. Plans from $49 a month.

No account. No card. Real output in about 20 seconds.

02 / The short answer

Most Shopify SEO apps fill every field with a template, and SEOMake rewrites the pages that earn the money

Open the search engine listing of a typical Shopify collection and you find the collection name, maybe the store name after it, and a meta description Shopify pulled from the first sentence of the copy. A bulk SEO app will fix the empty ones overnight with a pattern like "Buy {product} online at {store}". That is better than nothing on 3,000 products. It does nothing for the collection sitting at position 11 for "women's waterproof hiking boots", which needs a title that matches how people search and a description that gives them a reason to click.

SEOMake starts with that one page. It reads the live collection or product, looks at what ranks for the keyword, and writes a title, meta description and opening built for that query. You approve it, and SEOMake writes the two fields through the Shopify Admin API, reads back what Shopify stored and logs the old values.

Keep your bulk app for the long tail. Use SEOMake where a better listing changes revenue.

03 / How it connects

Connect a Shopify store to SEOMake in three steps and about five minutes

1

Create a custom app

In the Shopify admin open Settings, Apps and sales channels, Develop apps, and create an app for SEOMake. It lives in your store only, and uninstalling it revokes access at once.

2

Give it three scopes

Turn on write access for products, content and online store pages. That covers the search engine listing of products, collections, pages and blog articles, and nothing in orders, customers or payments.

3

Paste the token, then approve

Install the app, copy the Admin API access token into SEOMake with your .myshopify.com address, and SEOMake checks the store answers. From then on every fix you approve can be published.

Markets and nested URLs handled

A product reached through /collections/boots/products/trail-pro, or a Markets address with /en-ca/ in front, is matched to the right product before anything is written.

Approvals and off-limits pages

Only an owner or approver can publish. Mark pages such as a legal-approved landing as off limits and SEOMake will not audit or touch them.

Undo that really undoes

Undo puts back the previous title and description. If the page had none and showed Shopify's default, undo removes the custom field so the default returns.

04 / Shopify AI SEO apps compared

Best AI SEO for Shopify by entry price, AI limit and what each app writes

Prices below were read on each app's Shopify App Store listing on 8 October 2026, billed in USD every 30 days. The useful column is the AI limit, because that is what decides whether a plan covers your catalog or only part of it.

AI SEO tools for Shopify compared: Smart SEO, Plug in SEO, SearchPie, Avada AI SEO, SEO Manager, Yoast SEO for Shopify and SEOMake on entry price, AI limit, what the app writes and who each suits
App Entry paid price AI or scan limit What it writes Best for
Smart SEO $14.99 a month 200 AI generations a month on Pro, 500 on Business, 1,200 on Premium Meta tags and alt text by template or AI, in bulk Blanket coverage of a large catalog
Plug in SEO $29.99 a month Scans 200 pages on Lite, 2,000 on Standard, unlimited on Premium Audit, AI keyword research, title and description tools Stores that want the issue list first
SearchPie Free, then $39 a month Enterprise, $99, generates up to 5,000 SEO tags with AI Templates for every page, schema, speed, AI tags Schema and speed in the same app
Avada AI SEO Free, then $34.95 a month 100 AI credits free, 1,000 on Pro, 10,000 on Enterprise Meta tags, alt text, structured data, audits Image heavy stores
SEO Manager $9 a month AI content generation on Professional, $59 Meta tag control, Google preview, redirects Hands-on editing with a preview
Yoast SEO for Shopify $19 a month AI+ at $45 adds AI visibility and citation tracking Analysis while you edit, bulk editor import and export Teams that already know Yoast
SEOMake $49 a month Unlimited audits, 20 drafted fixes on Starter Scored audit of the live page, then the title, meta, outline and missing sections Collections and best sellers ranking 5 to 30

Where the apps win is plain. If your store has 4,000 products with empty meta descriptions, Smart SEO Business at $24.99 or SearchPie Enterprise at $99 will fill them in days, and they also handle image compression, schema and alt text, which SEOMake does not. None of them looks at which pages are close to page one or at what the ranking pages say. The full plan by plan math for big catalogs is in our post on Shopify SEO app pricing for stores with 500 or more products.

05 / Which pages first

Shopify AI SEO optimization pays off on collections first, best sellers second and the long tail last

Fix first

Collections

Collections match category searches like "linen dresses for women" that carry real volume and buying intent. They are the pages most stores leave with a bare name as the title. One sharper title and an opening paragraph that answers the query often moves them more than any product edit.

Fix second

Best sellers

Your top 20 products by revenue, and any product Search Console shows at positions 5 to 20. These deserve a title written for the model or use people search, not the supplier's SKU name.

Template is fine

Long tail products

Hundreds of variants and slow movers. A bulk template from an SEO app or the CSV import is the sensible cost here. Spend audit time where clicks are close.

To find them, open Search Console, filter Pages to /collections/ and /products/, and sort by impressions where the average position is 5 to 30. Feed those URLs to SEOMake with the query each one shows for. Each audit also lists what a title alone will not solve, such as thin collection copy or a product description copied from the supplier, and on paid plans it returns a 400 to 700 word draft for those sections. The field by field checklist sits on our Shopify SEO audit page.

06 / Who connects a store

The pages worth an audit are usually the ten collections that bring most of the orders.

Who buys a Shopify AI SEO app that writes and publishes the fix

Merchants doing their own marketing

A store with 200 to 2,000 products and no SEO hire. Starter at $49 a month covers unlimited audits and 20 drafted fixes, enough to work through the main collections in a month or two.

Shopify agencies

Each client store gets its own connection, approver and off-limits list, and audits are not tied to a store count. The agency writes, the client approves, SEOMake publishes and logs who did what. See SEO software for agencies.

Brands moving from WooCommerce

Titles and descriptions often arrive mangled after a migration. Audit the collections that lost positions and republish them without editing each one by hand. If part of the business still runs on WordPress, the same flow covers AI SEO tools for WordPress.

07 / What it costs

Shopify SEO app cost per month for a 1,000 product store with 40 collections

Take a store with 1,000 products and 40 collections that wants AI written meta for everything. On Smart SEO the AI bulk tools start on Business, $24.99 a month with 500 AI generations, so the first pass takes two to three months, or one month on Premium at $49.99. Plug in SEO scans up to 2,000 pages on Standard, $49.99. Avada Pro is $34.95 with 1,000 AI credits. SearchPie needs Enterprise, $99, for its 5,000 AI tags.

SEOMake is $49 a month or $490 paid yearly. It will not write meta for all 1,000 products, and it is not meant to. It audits the 40 collections and the products close to page one and publishes the fixes you approve. Many stores run one bulk app plus SEOMake. Plans are Starter $49 with 20 drafts, Growth $149 with 100 and Agency $499 with 500, and publishing to Shopify comes with every paid plan. Details on SEOMake pricing.

08 / What it does not do

Where SEOMake stops and your Shopify theme or SEO app carries on

Title and meta only

Publishing writes the SEO title and meta description. Outlines, openings and drafted copy come back for you to place, because product and collection copy deserves a human pass.

No alt text or images

Image compression, file names and alt text across the catalog stay with an image or SEO app.

Not the home page title

The home page title and description live in Online Store, Preferences, not on a product or collection, so SEOMake shows that fix for you to paste.

No schema or speed work

Structured data, redirects and theme speed belong to your theme and apps. SEOMake does not change your theme code.

Small agency team reviewing a grid of client websites together
Every published change keeps the previous listing, so a fix that does not perform can be rolled back.
09 / Asked and answered

Shopify AI SEO app questions merchants ask before they install one

What is the best AI SEO app for Shopify?

It depends on the job. For filling meta tags across thousands of products, a bulk app such as Smart SEO or SearchPie is the cheapest route. For the 20 to 50 collections and best sellers that decide revenue, SEOMake audits each page against what ranks, writes the fix and publishes it to the Shopify search engine listing after approval.

Does Shopify have AI for SEO?

Shopify has Shopify Magic, which drafts product descriptions and other text inside the admin, and every product, collection, page and article has a search engine listing section for the SEO title and meta description. Shopify does not tell you which pages are close to page one or what each should say. That is the gap AI SEO apps fill.

How much does a Shopify SEO app cost?

Read on the Shopify App Store on 8 October 2026: Smart SEO from $14.99 a month, SEO Manager from $9, Yoast SEO from $19, Plug in SEO from $29.99, Avada from $34.95 and SearchPie from $39 after free plans. AI limits differ widely, from 200 to 10,000 generations or credits a month. SEOMake is $49 a month with unlimited audits.

Can AI write meta descriptions for Shopify products?

Yes, and most SEO apps do it in bulk from the product title and description. The quality problem is that a description written only from your own copy cannot know what the searcher compares you with. SEOMake writes the description from an audit of the page and the results that rank for its keyword, then you approve it.

Is there an AI SEO tool for Shopify that publishes changes automatically?

Yes. SEOMake connects through a Shopify custom app token and writes the approved SEO title and meta description into the search engine listing of products, collections, pages and blog articles, then reads the stored values back. Automatic publishing is off by default per store, so an owner or approver signs off each change unless you switch it on.

How do I bulk edit SEO titles in Shopify?

Shopify's product CSV export includes SEO Title and SEO Description columns, so you can edit them in a spreadsheet and import the file back. Bulk SEO apps do the same with templates. Both are fast and both treat every product alike. For pages that earn most of the traffic, a per-page fix usually beats a template.

Is Shopify good for SEO?

Shopify handles the technical basics well: clean sitemaps, canonical tags, SSL and fast hosting. What it leaves to you is everything Google reads to decide relevance, the titles, meta descriptions, collection copy and product text. Most Shopify stores that stall on page two have a wording problem, not a platform problem.

Do I still need a Shopify SEO app if I use SEOMake?

Often yes. SEOMake does not compress images, add schema or write alt text across a catalog. Many stores keep a bulk app for those and the long tail of products, and use SEOMake on the pages that matter most, where an audited, approved title and meta are worth more than a template.
