Search Atlas pricing for agencies: the seat-inclusive model, and what ten client sites really cost

Search Atlas costs $99, $199, $399 or $999 a month, and unlike almost every platform it competes with, those prices include 1, 3, 5 and 10 user seats. Ahrefs includes one seat on every tier and charges $40 to $80 a month for each extra. Semrush lists additional users from $45. For a five-person agency that closes most of the apparent price gap. What it does not close is the client-site gap, because Search Atlas Pro covers 4 connected sites at $399 while Moz Pro Large covers 25 at $299.

Search Atlas is one of the few SEO platforms where the pricing page tells you how many people can log in. That sounds like a small detail. It is the difference between a $399 bill and a $489 one for the same team, and it is the reason headline-price roundups get this vendor wrong in both directions.

What Search Atlas costs, plan by plan

These four figures were read off searchatlas.com/pricing on 2 September 2026 and checked again on 5 September 2026. The month-to-month numbers have not moved since 25 July, which makes this one of the more stable ladders in the category.

One change worth noting. On the 5 September check, Search Atlas was displaying an annual billing option at 20 percent off, which none of the four earlier checks showed. That takes Starter to $79 a month, Growth to $159 and Pro to $319. For an agency already committed to a year, it removes roughly a fifth of the bill and changes the seat arithmetic below in Search Atlas's favor again.

Search Atlas plans, seats and OTTO projects
Plan Monthly Seats OTTO projects
Starter $99 1 1
Growth $199 3 2
Pro $399 5 4, white label included
Agency $999 10 10 OTTO sites, unlimited keywords

No annual rate is shown anywhere on the page. Several review sites quote a 20 percent annual discount and it may well exist, but a number that is not on the vendor's own pricing page is not a price, so it is not in the table.

The seat line, and why it flips the comparison

Line up the four major platforms an agency actually shortlists and the seat column is the one that moves. Every figure below came off the named vendor's own pricing page on 2 September 2026.

Ahrefs is the sharpest example. Every plan includes exactly one seat. Lite at $129 lets you add two more at $40 a month each. Standard at $249 lets you add five at $60 each. Advanced at $449 lets you add ten at $80 each. So the seat price rises as the plan gets more expensive, and the cap is hard: a four-person agency cannot buy Lite at any price, and has to move up a tier for headcount rather than for data. That trap is worked through in more detail in the best Ahrefs alternatives for small agencies.

Semrush lists Additional Users as an add-on starting at $45 a month and does not publish how many seats the base plans include, which means you cannot price a team from the pricing page at all. Moz Pro is the most transparent of the three: Standard includes 1 seat at $99, Medium includes 2 at $179, Large includes 3 at $299, and no extra-seat rate is published on the page.

Search Atlas is the outlier. Three seats on a $199 plan and five on a $399 plan are simply included. Run a five-person team through all four ladders at published monthly rates and the ranking is not what the headline prices suggest: Moz Pro Large at $299 for 3 seats and 25 tracked sites, Search Atlas Pro at $399 for 5 seats and 4 OTTO projects, Semrush Pro+ from $479 for 15 projects, Ahrefs Standard at $489 for 20 projects. The two cheapest plans on paper end up third and fourth once people are counted.

Where the seat advantage stops mattering

At the client-site column. This is the honest counterweight and it is large. Search Atlas counts OTTO projects, and one project is one connected site. Pro covers four. An agency with a dozen clients cannot run them on Pro no matter how many seats it includes, and the next stop is $999 a month for ten, which is still two short of a twelve-client roster.

Compare that to $299 a month for 25 tracked sites on Moz Pro Large or 15 projects on Semrush Pro+, and the shape of the decision is clear. Search Atlas is priced for deep work on a small number of sites by a whole team. It is not priced for wide, shallow coverage of a long client list. If your agency is the second kind, the seat bundling is a discount on the wrong axis.

The AI credit pool works the same way. Content generation, audits and the semantic grader all draw from one monthly allowance, so a heavy month on one client can push you up a tier for reasons that have nothing to do with how many sites you manage.

What you are actually buying at $99 a month

OTTO's real feature is not the audit. It is the delivery mechanism. You install a script tag on a client site and OTTO deploys title tags, meta descriptions, schema, internal links and other on-page changes through it, without touching the CMS. For an agency that means you can ship on-page work to a client whose developer queue is six weeks long, or whose site you have never been given access to. That is a genuine capability and no research platform in the category has an equivalent.

It also means the improvements live in the script rather than in the site. Cancel the subscription and they leave with it. That is the trade, and it is worth thinking about before you build a retainer on top of it. The full version of that decision, including where a rewrite-and-paste workflow fits instead, is on our Search Atlas and OTTO SEO alternative page.

How to price it against your own roster

Three questions, in this order. First, how many client sites need connecting? If it is more than four you are on the $999 plan, and at that point you are comparing against enterprise quotes rather than against Moz. Second, how many people need a login? If it is more than three, Search Atlas has already closed most of the gap to Semrush and Ahrefs without you doing anything. Third, can you edit the sites? If yes, you are paying for a delivery mechanism you do not need.

Most small agencies land on a split rather than a single subscription: one research platform bought on client-site cap, and one cheap tool bought purely for the branded report. That combination usually costs less than either platform's agency tier. The full side-by-side, with client sites and seats in their own columns, is on SEO software for agencies, and the branded-report half of it is priced out in WooRank vs SEOptimer pricing.

One practical note on the seat question, since it decides the comparison. Agencies routinely add a fifth or sixth login for a contractor brought in for one client engagement rather than for a permanent hire, and on a metered platform that is an $80 a month decision for someone who may be gone in six weeks. If that is the pattern you are pricing around, it is worth being deliberate about where you bring in freelance specialists and which of them genuinely need platform access rather than a shared export.

What we do, and what we do not

Seomake is not a Search Atlas replacement and this comparison would be dishonest if it pretended otherwise. We run no link index, we do not crawl client sites on a schedule, and we deploy nothing through a script tag. If OTTO's pixel is solving your access problem, nothing here replaces it.

What we do is the step every audit tool in this category stops before. You get a scored, prioritized list of what is wrong with a page, and then somebody on your team writes the corrected title, the meta description and the heading outline by hand. Point Seomake at a live client URL and the keyword it should rank for and that copy arrives written, ready to paste. Our Agency plan covers 25 client sites and 15 seats at $499 a month, or $249.50 a month billed yearly, with unlimited audits on every tier.

Search Atlas pricing, question by question

How much does Search Atlas cost?

Search Atlas publishes four monthly plans. Starter is $99 with 1 OTTO project and 1 seat. Growth is $199 with 2 OTTO projects and 3 seats. Pro is $399 with 4 OTTO projects, 5 seats and white label. Agency is $999 with 10 OTTO sites, 10 seats, unlimited keywords, white-label reporting and client dashboards. No annual rate is displayed on the pricing page.

How many users does Search Atlas include?

One on Starter, three on Growth, five on Pro and ten on Agency, all included in the plan price. That is unusual in this category. Ahrefs includes exactly one seat on every tier and charges $40, $60 or $80 a month for each additional user. Semrush lists additional users starting at $45 a month. Moz Pro includes 1, 2 or 3 seats depending on the plan.

Is Search Atlas worth it for an agency?

It depends on whether you can edit your clients' sites. OTTO deploys changes through a script tag, which is genuinely valuable when a client will not give you CMS access or their developer queue is six weeks long. If you do have access and want changes that survive a cancelled subscription, you are paying a platform premium for a delivery mechanism you do not need.

How many client sites does Search Atlas cover?

One, two, four or ten, by tier, counted as OTTO projects. That is the tightest site cap of the major platforms at comparable prices: Moz Pro Large covers 25 tracked sites at $299 and Semrush Pro+ covers 15 projects at $299, while Search Atlas Pro covers 4 at $399. If your roster is wide and shallow, this is the wrong shape of plan.

Does Search Atlas include white label reporting?

Yes, from the Pro plan at $399 a month, and on Agency at $999. It is not on Starter or Growth. If white-label reporting is the only reason you are considering the platform, SEOptimer sells branded PDFs from $39 a month with unlimited websites, which is a tenth of the price for that specific job.

Can you buy OTTO SEO on its own?

No. OTTO is a feature inside a Search Atlas subscription and is metered by project count on every tier. There is no OTTO-only plan, which is why the practical entry price for OTTO is $99 a month rather than something smaller. An agency needing more than four connected sites is on the $999 Agency plan.

Is Search Atlas cheaper than Semrush for an agency?

On seats yes, on client sites no. Five people on Semrush Pro+ costs $299 plus four additional users from $45, so from $479 a month for 15 projects. Five people on Search Atlas Pro costs a flat $399 for 4 OTTO projects. Search Atlas is $80 cheaper and covers a quarter of the roster, so the answer is set entirely by your client count.

Does Search Atlas offer annual billing?

Its pricing page displayed no annual rate when checked on 2 September 2026, showing only the four monthly figures. Third-party reviews commonly quote a 20 percent annual discount, but that number is not on the vendor's own page, so treat it as something to confirm in checkout rather than as a published price.

Last updated September 2026. All Search Atlas prices, seat counts and OTTO project limits read off searchatlas.com/pricing on 2 September 2026. Ahrefs figures read off ahrefs.com/pricing, Semrush off semrush.com/prices and Moz Pro off moz.com/products/pro/pricing on the same day. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, this article says so rather than estimating it. Vendors change pricing without notice, so confirm at checkout before committing.
