SEO software for agencies: SEO tools for agencies priced by the two things that decide an agency bill, client sites and seats
Fifteen plans from six vendors, every price read off the vendor's own page with the date, and the two columns the listicles leave out: how many client sites the plan covers and what the fourth person on your team costs. While you read, point the audit at a live client page.
What an agency should actually buy
SEO software for agencies costs $39 to $999 a month, and the bill is decided by two numbers rather than the headline price: how many client sites the plan covers, and how many seats it includes. Semrush Pro+ at $299 covers 15 projects, Moz Pro Large at $299 covers 25 tracked sites, Ahrefs Standard at $249 covers 20 projects but includes one seat and charges $60 a month for each additional. Search Atlas is the only major platform that bundles multiple seats at every paid tier.
That difference is not a rounding error. Two plans priced within $50 of each other can differ by twentyfold on client sites, and a five-person agency can pay $240 a month in seat charges on top of a plan it already bought. Both numbers live below the fold on every vendor's pricing page, under the keyword counts and the feature checkmarks that nobody buys on.
The second thing worth saying plainly: almost every agency buys two tools, not one, and they are not competing purchases. One is a research platform that tells you what is wrong and what competitors rank for. The other is an audit and reporting tool that produces something a client can read. Trying to force one subscription to do both is the most common way agencies overspend in this category, because it pushes you up a ladder for a feature that costs $39 standalone.
Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz Pro and Search Atlas figures read off each vendor's own pricing page on 2 September 2026. SEOptimer and WooRank on 1 September 2026. Where a vendor does not publish a number, the table says so rather than estimating it. Vendors change pricing without notice, so confirm at checkout.
SEO tools for agencies, priced against client sites and seats
Read columns four and five before column two. Vendors count client sites differently and the words matter: Moz counts tracked sites, Semrush and Ahrefs count projects, Search Atlas counts OTTO projects, and SEOptimer counts crawls per month instead of sites at all. They are not interchangeable units, so the table uses each vendor's own word.
| Tool and plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | Client sites | Seats | Extra seat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seomake Agency | $499 | $249.50 a month ($2,994 a year) | 25 | 15 included | No extra seat charge inside 15 |
| Moz Pro Standard | $99 | $79 a month | 3 tracked sites | 1 included | Not published on the pricing page |
| Moz Pro Medium | $179 | $143 a month | 10 tracked sites | 2 included | Not published on the pricing page |
| Moz Pro Large | $299 | $239 a month | 25 tracked sites | 3 included | Not published on the pricing page |
| Semrush SEO | $139 | $117.33 a month | 5 projects | Not published | Additional users from $45 a month |
| Semrush Pro+ | $299 | $248.17 a month | 15 projects | Not published | Additional users from $45 a month |
| Semrush Advanced | $549 | $455.67 a month | 40 projects | Not published | Additional users from $45 a month |
| Ahrefs Lite | $129 | Annual saves up to 17 percent | 5 projects | 1 included | $40 a month each, hard cap of 2 extra |
| Ahrefs Standard | $249 | Annual saves up to 17 percent | 20 projects | 1 included | $60 a month each, hard cap of 5 extra |
| Ahrefs Advanced | $449 | Annual saves up to 17 percent | 50 projects | 1 included | $80 a month each, hard cap of 10 extra |
| Search Atlas Growth | $199 | Not published on the pricing page | 2 OTTO projects | 3 included | Not published on the pricing page |
| Search Atlas Pro | $399 | Not published on the pricing page | 4 OTTO projects | 5 included | Not published on the pricing page |
| Search Atlas Agency | $999 | Not published on the pricing page | 10 OTTO sites | 10 included | Not published on the pricing page |
| SEOptimer White Label | $39 | $29.25 a month ($351 a year) | Unlimited websites, 10 crawls a month | 3 users | Next tier at $59 raises it to 6 |
| WooRank Premium | $199.99 | $133.25 a month | 5 projects | Not published on the pricing page | Not published on the pricing page |
SE Ranking is missing from the table on purpose. It geolocates its pricing and serves euros with no option to force dollars, so putting it in a dollar table would mean converting a figure the vendor never published. Its ladder, in the currency it actually quotes, is on SE Ranking alternative and pricing. Conductor and the other enterprise platforms quote rather than list, and that math is on Conductor SEO pricing. Full per-vendor ladders are on Semrush pricing, Ahrefs pricing and Moz pricing.
Four things that change an agency bill after you sign
The seat ladder gets steeper as you climb
Ahrefs charges $40 a month for an extra seat on Lite, $60 on Standard and $80 on Advanced. The more you spend on the plan, the more each person costs. There is also a hard cap of 2, 5 and 10 extra users, so a four-person agency cannot buy Lite at any price and has to move up a tier for people rather than for data.
Client sites are counted in four different units
A tracked site, a project and an OTTO project are not the same thing, and none of them are a domain. Moz Pro Large covers 25 tracked sites at $299. Search Atlas Pro covers 4 OTTO projects at $399. Both are agency plans, and the roster they support differs by six times.
White label is usually a tier, not a feature
On SEOptimer the branded report is the $39 plan. On WooRank it is the $199.99 Premium plan. On Search Atlas it is Pro at $399. On Semrush it is a separate Agency Growth Kit add-on rather than a line on the main pricing page. If the branded PDF is your deliverable, that decision is worth more than the research depth above it.
Reporting cadence is metered, not unlimited
SEOptimer meters crawls rather than sites: 10 a month on the $39 plan and 50 on the $59 one. If you promise fifteen clients a monthly audit, the cheaper plan runs out in week three. Read the metered unit, because it is rarely the one on the pricing card.
A five person agency with twelve client sites, priced four ways
This is the shape most small agencies are: a couple of strategists, a couple of writers, someone who owns reporting, and a roster in the low teens. Every number below comes from the table above, at published monthly rates.
Ahrefs Standard
$489 a month
$249 for the plan, which covers 20 projects, plus four extra seats at $60 each. The seat charge is nearly as much as the software. You get the deepest link index in the category for it, which is the honest trade.
Semrush Pro+
From $479 a month
$299 for the plan, which covers 15 projects, plus four additional users from $45. Semrush does not publish how many users the base plans include, so treat this as a floor rather than a quote and confirm it in checkout.
Moz Pro Large
$299 a month
25 tracked sites and 3 seats included, with 3,000 tracked keywords a month. Two people would be sharing a login unless Moz sells you seats four and five, and it does not publish that rate on the pricing page. The cheapest headline here by a wide margin.
Search Atlas Agency
$999 a month
10 OTTO sites and 10 seats included, so nobody shares a login and white label is already there. It is also two sites short of the roster, and more than three times the Moz bill. You are paying for execution, not for data.
The spread is $299 to $999 for the same twelve clients and the same five people, and the cheapest option is not the weakest one. What separates them is what you are buying: Moz sells you the most roster for the money, Ahrefs sells you the best data, Semrush sells you the widest toolset, and Search Atlas sells you execution and seats. Pick the axis your agency is actually short on, then buy the cheapest plan that clears the client-site cap on it.
White label SEO software for agencies: who actually ships the branded report
This is the most searched agency sub-question in the cluster and it has a short, checkable answer. Four vendors put a branded, client-ready report inside a published plan, and the price range for the same headline job is wider than anywhere else in SEO software.
| Vendor | Cheapest plan with branded reports | What you get for it |
|---|---|---|
| SEOptimer | White Label, $39 a month | Unlimited websites, 100 keywords, 10 crawls a month, 3 users, branded PDFs |
| Moz Pro | Medium, $179 a month | 10 tracked sites, 2 seats, branded reports listed on the plan |
| WooRank | Premium, $199.99 a month | 5 projects, 250 keywords, white-label PDFs, LeadGen tool |
| Search Atlas | Pro, $399 a month | 4 OTTO projects, 5 seats, white label included from this tier up |
| Semrush | Sold as a separate Agency Growth Kit | Client portal and white label reporting, priced outside the main plan ladder |
The gap between the first row and the fourth is the single largest arbitrage in agency SEO tooling: $351 a year against $4,788 for output a client cannot tell apart. That comparison is worked through vendor by vendor in WooRank vs SEOptimer pricing, and the wider audit-tool field is on the audit tool comparison. If the branded report is the whole deliverable, buy for that first and buy your research platform second.
We are not the platform on this page, and we will not pretend to be
Seomake does not run a link index, does not crawl your client sites on a schedule and does not replace Semrush, Ahrefs or Moz Pro. If you need competitor backlink data or a nightly crawl across 25 properties, buy one of them and keep it.
What we do is the part of the agency month that stays manual no matter how good your platform is. Every audit tool in the table ends in a scored, prioritized list of what is wrong. Nobody writes the corrected title tag, nobody drafts the meta description, and nobody hands you the heading outline the page should have used. On one site that is an afternoon. On twelve client sites it is the reason your seniors are producing instead of reviewing.
Point Seomake at a live client URL and the keyword it should rank for, and you get the rewritten title under 60 characters with the keyword first, the meta description at 140 to 160, the heading outline, an opening paragraph and the keyword gaps, as copy you paste into the CMS. Agency covers 25 client sites and 15 seats at $499 a month, or $249.50 a month billed yearly, with unlimited audits on every tier because we do not meter them. The full ladder is on the pricing page, and the security and access controls larger teams ask about are on enterprise SEO software.
SEO software for agencies, question by question
What is the best SEO software for agencies?
There is no single best one, because agencies buy on two different axes. If you need depth on competitor and backlink data, Semrush Pro+ at $299 covers 15 projects and Ahrefs Standard at $249 covers 20. If you need many client sites cheaply, Moz Pro Large covers 25 tracked sites at $299 and SEOptimer covers unlimited websites at $39. If you need the work executed rather than reported, that is a smaller field.
How much does SEO software for an agency cost?
Between $39 and $999 a month for one platform, and most agencies run two. The realistic floor for an agency with ten or more client sites is around $250 a month, and the realistic ceiling before enterprise quotes begin is $999. Seats are what push a bill past its headline: a five-person team on Ahrefs Standard pays $249 plus four seats at $60, which is $489 a month.
What are the best SEO tools for agencies in 2026?
The category has split in two. Research platforms (Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz Pro, SE Ranking) tell you what is wrong and what competitors rank for. Execution tools (Search Atlas OTTO, Seomake) produce the change itself, either deployed through a script or written as copy you paste. Most agencies in 2026 buy one from each column, because neither half does the other job.
Which SEO tools include white label reporting for agencies?
SEOptimer from $39 a month, WooRank from $199.99 a month on Premium, Search Atlas from $399 a month on Pro, and Moz Pro from $179 a month on Medium, which lists branded reports. Semrush sells client portal and white label reporting through a separate Agency Growth Kit add-on rather than including it in the plans on its main pricing page.
How many client sites do agency SEO plans cover?
It varies by more than tenfold at the same price point. At roughly $299 a month, Moz Pro Large covers 25 tracked sites, Semrush Pro+ covers 15 projects and Search Atlas covers 4 OTTO projects at $399. SEOptimer covers unlimited websites at $39 but meters crawls at 10 a month instead. Read the site cap before the price.
Do SEO tools charge per user seat?
Most do. Ahrefs includes exactly one seat on every plan and charges $40, $60 or $80 a month for each extra depending on the tier, with a hard cap of 2, 5 or 10. Semrush lists additional users from $45 a month. Moz Pro includes 1, 2 or 3 seats by tier. Search Atlas is the outlier, bundling 3, 5 or 10 seats into its paid plans at no extra charge.
Is there affordable SEO software for a small agency?
Yes, if you separate the jobs. A small agency running five to ten client sites can pair SEOptimer at $39 a month for unlimited-site audits and branded PDFs with one research seat on Moz Pro Standard at $99 or Semrush SEO at $139. That is under $250 a month for both halves, against $489 for a five-seat Ahrefs Standard subscription alone.
What is the difference between SEO software for agencies and for in-house teams?
Client count and reporting. An in-house team optimizes one property deeply, so keyword allowance and crawl depth matter most. An agency spreads shallow work across many properties and has to prove it happened, so the project cap, the seat count and the exportable report matter most. That is why a plan that suits a good in-house team is often the wrong purchase for an agency of the same size.
Can one SEO tool replace the whole agency stack?
Not honestly. No single vendor is simultaneously the best link index, the best rank tracker, the best crawler and the best writer, and the plans that come closest are quoted rather than listed. The practical agency stack in 2026 is one research platform, one audit and reporting tool, and Google Search Console, which is free and measures your real queries rather than estimating them.
Do agencies need AI SEO tools?
For production work, increasingly yes. The audit half of the category has been commoditized for years and every tool produces a similar prioritized issue list. What still costs agency hours is turning that list into written titles, metas, headings and opening paragraphs across dozens of client pages. That is the part AI genuinely compresses, and it is the part most platforms still leave to you.
Which SEO software has the best reporting for clients?
For a branded PDF a client can read, SEOptimer at $39 a month is the cheapest credible option and WooRank Premium at $199.99 is the most polished. For a live dashboard a client logs into, Search Atlas Pro at $399 and Semrush with the Agency Growth Kit are the usual answers. What none of them report is which change caused which movement, which is the question clients actually ask.
Should an agency pay monthly or annually for SEO software?
Annually, once the tool has survived one full client cycle. The published discounts are large: Moz Pro Large drops from $299 to $239 a month, Semrush Advanced from $549 to $455.67, SEOptimer by a flat 25 percent and Ahrefs by up to 17 percent. Pay monthly while you are still deciding, because annual plans on this category rarely refund.
More of the agency math is worked through on the blog: Search Atlas pricing for agencies covers the seat-inclusive model, the best Ahrefs alternatives for small agencies covers the seat caps, SE Ranking vs Semrush pricing for a small agency covers the project cap, and the best SEO audit report tool for agencies covers the deliverable itself. If you are buying your first tool rather than a roster-scale one, the entry-tier comparison is on SEO software for small business.
The audit is commoditized. The rewriting is what costs you the month.
