Semrush One pricing for Guru and Pro subscribers and whether the move is worth it

If you are on Semrush Pro or Guru and have just found a pricing page you do not recognise, here is the short version. Your plan was not cancelled. It was filed under a new heading called SEO Classic, and a second ladder called Semrush One was put in front of it. Moving across costs $49.05 a month more at identical SEO capacity, and that money buys AI visibility tracking, not more sites, keywords or crawl budget. Staying put is still an option Semrush publishes a price for.

Every figure here was read from Semrush's own pages rather than from a review. The classic prices and limits come from its knowledge base article 1547 on 16 September 2026. The Semrush One prices come from our read of the live pricing page on 9 September 2026, because that page renders its prices in the browser instead of in the source, with annual billing selected by default. We also sell an SEO tool, so weigh the conclusions accordingly. The numbers can be checked on Semrush's site.

Before any of that, the more useful test: take the page this subscription is supposed to be helping and see what is actually wrong with it.

What Semrush One costs, tier by tier

Semrush One is sold in four tiers: SEO at $139 a month, Starter at $199, Pro+ at $299 and Advanced at $549. Annual billing lowers each of those. The classic ladder underneath it is unchanged: Pro at $139.95, Guru at $249.95 and Business at $499.95.

Line those two up by capacity rather than by tier order and the picture gets much simpler. Pro and SEO both carry 5 monitored sites and 500 tracked keywords. Guru and Pro+ both carry 15 sites and 1,500 keywords. Business and Advanced both carry 40 sites and 5,000 keywords. The limits are not similar, they are identical. Which means the price difference is not buying you room.

And the difference is suspiciously tidy. Guru to Pro+ is $49.05 a month. Business to Advanced is $49.05 a month. The same number twice is not a coincidence in pricing, it is a line item. That $49.05 is what Semrush charges to bolt AI visibility onto a plan you already hold, and $588.60 is what it comes to over a year. The full side-by-side, including the one row the classic ladder cannot fill, is on our Semrush One vs SEO Classic page.

Why so many pages say Guru was discontinued

Because from the outside it looks discontinued. The featured ladder on Semrush's pricing page is SEO, Starter, Pro+ and Advanced, and Guru is not among them. Anyone checking quickly concludes the plan is gone. We concluded that ourselves a week ago and it was wrong.

Further down the same page is a second section headed SEO Classic Plans, and that is where Pro, Guru and Business live. Their prices are still published in knowledge base article 1547, which is titled SEO Toolkit Pricing and Limits and does not use the phrase SEO Classic once. So Semrush is running two names for the same ladder across two of its own properties. The article that used to reconcile them, number 1624, now redirects to the pricing page, where no comparison exists. Google still lists its old title in the results.

That is worth knowing before you renew, because the difference between a plan being retired and a plan being renamed is the difference between having no choice and having one. We have corrected our own Semrush Guru plan price page to match what the vendor actually publishes.

The second seat charge nobody budgets for

Seats are where this gets expensive quietly. Extra users on Semrush have long been a separate line starting around $45 a month each. On the Semrush One ladder there is a second one. The pricing page carries a tooltip reading "Cost per extra team member for SEO Classic Toolkit access" and, separately, "Cost per extra team member for AI Visibility Toolkit access, in addition to the user cost".

Read that phrase again: in addition to the user cost. A three-person team on Semrush One is paying the plan, two SEO seats and two AI visibility seats. Price that out properly before you compare headline numbers, because the gap between the ladders widens with every person you add, not just with the plan. The rest of the add-on structure is on our Semrush pricing breakdown.

Is Semrush One worth it for an agency?

Agencies feel this hardest, because seat count scales with the team and site count scales with the roster. The honest test is narrow: has a client asked, in writing, how their brand shows up in AI answers? If yes, AI visibility reporting is a deliverable you can defend on an invoice and $49.05 a month is cheap for it. If no client has asked, you are funding a tab nobody opens, per account, forever.

There is a second thing worth separating out. Reporting on client sites is not the same problem as improving them, and for most small accounts the blocker is that the site itself has not been touched since 2019. That is a build problem, not a measurement problem, and something that builds the whole site end to end moves more of it than another dashboard will. Do not let a tracking subscription stand in for work nobody has scheduled.

When moving to Semrush One is the right call

Take it if AI visibility is genuinely on your plate: an executive has asked about it, you already pay for AI monitoring somewhere else and want one invoice, or you run a small site and need AI tracking without buying a 15 site plan, which is the only thing Starter exists to solve. If you are starting fresh with no existing subscription, the entry tiers are $139 and $139.95, a difference of ninety-five cents, so take Semrush One and stop thinking about it.

Stay on SEO Classic if your work is keyword research, position tracking, audits and backlinks and it ends there, if nobody has opened an AI visibility report in two months, or if you have several seats, which is where the second per-user charge compounds fastest. Renewing Guru at $249.95 is a perfectly ordinary decision and Semrush still takes the money.

The thing neither ladder does

Step back and look at what the extra $49.05 changes. It moves you from knowing where you rank in Google to knowing where you rank in Google and in AI answers. That is more measurement. For some teams it is exactly right, and if AI visibility reporting is the deliverable, buy it.

But most people weighing this already have the diagnosis. There is a site audit with four hundred issues in it, a position tracking dashboard showing page four, and a dozen pages written once and never revisited. Adding an AI visibility tab to that does not move any of them. The bottleneck stopped being information some time ago, and it is worth asking what the renewal is actually going to change.

That is the gap we work in. SEOMake reads one live URL and the keyword it should rank for, scores the page, lists what is costing it the ranking, and writes the correction: a title under 60 characters with the keyword first, a meta description at the length Google renders, a heading outline built for the intent, an opening paragraph, and the terms the page is missing against what already ranks. Paid plans add a 400 to 700 word draft that follows the outline. Starter is $49 a month with unlimited audits, which is within a rounding error of what the AI visibility line alone costs on Semrush One. We track rankings for the pages we fix, but we do not monitor AI mentions, so this is a different purchase, not a cheaper version of the same one. The plans are on our pricing page, and if the classic ladder is looking expensive for what you use, the Semrush alternatives page prices the rest of the market.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Semrush One cost?

Semrush One has four tiers. Read on 9 September 2026 they were SEO at $139 a month, Starter at $199, Pro+ at $299 and Advanced at $549, with lower rates on annual billing. Semrush renders these prices in the browser rather than in the page source and the annual toggle is selected by default, so check the monthly figure on the page before you subscribe.

Is Semrush One more expensive than my current plan?

At matching SEO capacity, yes, by $49.05 a month. Guru is $249.95 and the equivalent Semrush One Pro+ is $299. Business is $499.95 and the equivalent Advanced is $549. Both gaps are identical, which is what tells you the difference is a flat AI visibility charge rather than a repricing of the SEO tools.

Do I have to move to Semrush One?

No. The SEO Classic ladder is still on the pricing page and its prices are still published in Semrush knowledge base article 1547. Semrush features Semrush One first, which is a merchandising decision, not a deadline. Nothing in its published material sets an end date for the classic plans.

What is Semrush One Starter for?

Starter at $199 carries the same 5 monitored sites and 500 tracked keywords as the $139 SEO tier. The $60 between them is AI visibility, not capacity. It exists so a small site can buy AI tracking without jumping to a 15 site plan, which is the one thing the classic ladder cannot sell you.

Is Semrush One worth it for an agency?

It depends on whether AI visibility appears in what you invoice for. If a client has asked in writing how their brand shows up in AI answers, the reporting pays for itself. If nobody has asked, you are adding $588.60 a year per account plus a second per-seat charge for a tab your team will not open.

Does moving to Semrush One change my SEO limits?

No, and that surprises people. The capacity ladder is identical on both sides: 5 sites and 500 keywords, then 15 and 1,500, then 40 and 5,000. Moving from Guru to Pro+ gives you exactly the same monitored sites, tracked keywords and crawl budget you already have, plus the AI visibility toolkit.

SEO Classic prices and limits were read from semrush.com/kb/1547-seo-toolkit-pricing-and-plans on 16 September 2026, and the SEO Classic Plans heading and per-seat tooltips from the markup semrush.com/pricing/seo-ai-search/ shipped the same day. The redirect from knowledge base article 1624 was checked the same day. Semrush One prices are from our read of the live pricing page on 9 September 2026. Semrush plan prices change. If yours differs, trust your invoice.
