Semrush pricing plans in 2026 per month on the new SEO, Starter, Pro+ and Advanced ladder
Semrush restructured its plan ladder in 2026, and most pricing roundups have not caught up with either half of the change. Every figure here was read off semrush.com/pricing on 25 August 2026, including the annual rates and the add-on costs that turn a $299 plan into a $389 bill.
Semrush costs $139 to $549 a month, and the plan names you remember moved rather than went away
Semrush pricing runs SEO $139, Starter $199, Pro+ $299 and Advanced $549 a month, with a quote-only Enterprise tier above them. Paying annually brings those down to $117.33, $165.17, $248.17 and $455.67 a month. The Pro, Guru and Business plans that most comparison articles still list were not retired. They sit below this ladder under the heading SEO Classic, and Semrush still publishes their prices.
The detail that changes a buying decision is what the second tier is for. Starter costs $60 a month more than SEO and gives you no extra capacity whatsoever: both plans monitor 5 websites and track 500 keywords a day. That $60 buys AI visibility and nothing else, specifically 50 prompts tracked daily, one domain for AI brand performance, 300 AI visibility reports a day, an AI-ready site audit and MCP access. The entry SEO plan has no AI search tracking at all, which Semrush marks with four explicit exclusions on its own pricing cards.
Every published plan is priced for exactly one login. Additional users start at $45 a month each, so a three-person team on Pro+ pays $389 a month rather than $299. That seat cost is the single most common omission in Semrush budget comparisons, and unlike credits or crawl limits it scales with your headcount rather than with how hard you use the tool.
All plan figures read off semrush.com/pricing on 25 August 2026 in its US dollar rendering.
Semrush pricing plans and what each month actually buys
Semrush sells five tiers, not four, and the fifth is not on the price list. Enterprise sits behind a demo request with no published number at all. Below it, the four public plans split into a capacity story (how many sites and keywords) and an AI story (whether you can see your brand inside ChatGPT, Gemini and the rest). Those two stories do not move together, which is why the ladder reads oddly at first.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, per month | Core capacity | What defines the tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SEO | $139 | $117.33 | 5 websites, 500 keywords tracked daily | No AI search tracking of any kind. Position Tracking and Site Audit included. |
| Starter | $199 | $165.17 | 5 websites, 500 keywords tracked daily | Same capacity as SEO. The $60 step buys AI visibility and MCP access. |
| Pro+ | $299 | $248.17 | 15 websites, 1,500 keywords tracked daily | Historical data, content optimization, cannibalization analysis, 100 prompts daily. |
| Advanced | $549 | $455.67 | 40 websites, 5,000 keywords tracked daily | Share of voice, API data integration, 200 prompts daily. No free trial button. |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited projects and custom limits | Demo request only. SSO, audit logs, dedicated manager, multi-million-page crawls. |
Run the annual arithmetic and the discount is not quite uniform. Semrush advertises "save up to 17%", and the top three tiers land on exactly that: Starter drops from $2,388 to $1,982.04 a year, Pro+ from $3,588 to $2,978.04, Advanced from $6,588 to $5,468.04. The entry SEO plan is the exception, saving $260.04 against $1,668, which is nearer 15.6 percent. It is a small gap, but it means the cheapest plan is also the one where committing for a year is worth the least.
What each Semrush tier includes, on the numbers Semrush publishes
This is the comparison grid off the pricing page, transcribed rather than summarized. Where Semrush marks a feature as present without a number we say Included rather than inventing a figure.

Why the $60 between the SEO and Starter plans is the most important number here
On every SEO suite ever sold, moving up a tier bought you more room: more keywords, more projects, more crawl budget. Semrush broke that pattern in 2026 and almost nobody has written it down. SEO and Starter are identical on capacity. Five websites each. Five hundred keywords tracked daily each. The entire $60 a month gap is AI search data.
What $139 refuses to do
Semrush prints four explicit exclusions on the SEO plan card: no tracking performance in AI search, no monitoring AI sentiment, no AI visibility reports for any domain, no monitoring custom prompts. It also has no MCP access. If your reporting has to answer the question "are we showing up in ChatGPT", the entry plan cannot answer it at any volume.
What $199 adds, exactly
Fifty prompts tracked daily. One domain for AI brand performance. Three hundred AI visibility reports per day. An AI-ready site audit. MCP access, so an assistant can query your Semrush data directly. That is the complete list. No extra websites, no extra keywords, no historical data.
The practical reading is simple. If AI visibility is not yet on your reporting template, the SEO plan at $139 is the correct buy and Starter is $720 a year of nothing. If it is, Starter is reasonable value against buying an AI-visibility tracker separately, where standalone tools in this category commonly start near $99 a month for a single engine. Where the ladder becomes genuinely expensive is the jump to Pro+ at $299, and that one you make for capacity: 15 websites instead of 5, and historical data, which is the feature people most often discover they needed after they have already cancelled.
Semrush add-on costs that are not in the headline number
Four paid extras sit on the pricing page below the plan cards. Only one of them, the seat charge, affects nearly every buyer, and it is the one most budget comparisons omit.
| Add-on | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Additional users | From $45 a month each | Every published plan is priced for one login. Seats are added per person, and the cost scales with headcount rather than with how much data you pull. |
| Lead Generation | $90 a month | A branded profile on the Semrush Agency Partners platform plus a verified badge for your own marketing channels. Sold to agencies buying pipeline, not data. |
| Base Report | $10 a month | Reporting across 20 or more Semrush tools, Google Analytics and Search Console integrations, scheduling and PDF export. Sharing is limited to other Semrush users. |
| Pro Report | $20 a month | Everything in Base Report plus 20 or more external integrations, delivery at a specific time, white labeling, AI-generated summaries and sharing by link. |
Work a real bill and the headline stops being the number that matters. A three-person team on Pro+ with white-labeled client reporting is $299 for the plan, $90 for two extra seats and $20 for Pro Report, so $409 a month, or $4,908 a year paid monthly. The plan price is 73 percent of it. API access is a separate matter again: the subscription tier that names it does not include the data units, which is covered in full on our breakdown of Semrush API pricing.
Semrush is now an Adobe company, and the plan names changed with it
Two things happened to Semrush in 2026, and together they explain why almost every pricing page you find is wrong.
Adobe completed the acquisition on 28 April 2026
Adobe closed its purchase of Semrush Holdings in an all-cash deal valued at $1.9 billion, or $12.00 per share. Semrush Class A stock was removed from the NYSE effective before the market opened that day. The Semrush logo now reads "An Adobe Company". Adobe framed the rationale around discoverability as AI interfaces become a primary way buyers evaluate brands, which is consistent with what then happened to the plans.
Four months on, the acquisition has not moved a single published price: the ladder below was re-read on 3 September 2026 and is unchanged. If you are deciding whether to renew, we keep the commitments Semrush made to customers, and what each one leaves open, on the Semrush Adobe acquisition page.

The Pro, Guru and Business ladder was renamed, not retired
A decade-old three-tier structure was pushed below a new one, SEO, Starter, Pro+ and Advanced, with AI visibility bundled into every paid tier above the entry plan. The old tiers live on under the heading SEO Classic and are still priced. Semrush has not settled on one name for them: its pricing page says SEO Classic, its knowledge base says SEO Toolkit, and the article that compared the two ladders now redirects away.
Read on semrush.com/pricing, 25 August 2026.
Why this matters when you are budgeting: a large share of the "Semrush pricing" results still in circulation quote Pro at $139.95, Guru at $249.95 and Business at $499.95 as though those were the only plans, while a growing number now claim they were discontinued. Both readings are wrong. Those three tiers are still sold, at those prices, under the SEO Classic heading, and the four-tier ladder above them is a second, differently priced way to buy the same SEO capacity with AI visibility added. The two ladders matched tier by tier, with the flat $49.05 gap worked out, are on the Semrush One vs SEO Classic page. If you came here for one specific plan, the Semrush Guru plan price page has that tier on its own, and the reason the whole ladder costs more than it did is worked through in why Semrush is so expensive.
Which Semrush plan fits, by the thing that actually runs out first
Pick on the ceiling you will hit, not on the feature list. For almost everyone that ceiling is the number of websites you can monitor, because it maps directly onto your client count.
SEO, $139
One site you own, or a freelancer with a single retainer. Buy this if AI visibility is not on your reporting template yet. The 500 daily keywords are generous for one domain.
Starter, $199
Same size of operation, but you have been asked whether the brand shows up in ChatGPT. You are paying purely for that answer, so make sure someone will read it.
Pro+, $299
A small agency past four clients. Fifteen websites and 1,500 daily keywords, plus historical data and cannibalization analysis. The usual landing tier, and Semrush's own FAQ points small agencies here.
Advanced, $549
Forty sites, 5,000 keywords, share of voice and API data integration. Also the only tier with no free trial button, so you commit before you test it.
One caution on the annual discount. Semrush confirms you can cancel, downgrade or upgrade at any time unless you are on signed custom terms, which makes a monthly subscription a genuinely cheap way to find out whether the tool gets used. Seventeen percent is a real saving, but it is a poor trade if the login goes quiet in month three, and dormant SEO subscriptions are common enough that it is worth two months of monthly billing to check.
Semrush pricing against the tools buyers shortlist next to it
Entry prices in this category cluster within about $40 of each other, so they are close to meaningless as a comparison. What separates these tools is what the entry tier refuses to do. Prices were read on the dates noted, and vendors that geolocate were re-read from a United States connection in September 2026, so every figure is the dollar price an American buyer sees.
| Tool | Entry price | What the entry tier gives you | Buy it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Semrush SEO | $139 a month | 5 sites, 500 daily keywords, 1 seat, no AI search data | You want one login covering organic, ads, content and PR |
| Ahrefs Lite | $129 a month | 750 keywords, weekly rank updates, 2,500-row reports, 1 seat | Backlink data is the reason you are buying anything |
| Moz Pro Standard | $99 a month | 1 seat, weekly rank checks, Domain Authority and Link Explorer | Domain Authority is the metric your client reports are built on |
| Ubersuggest | From $29 a month | Small daily allowances, plus a one-time lifetime option | The budget is the constraint and the site count is low |
| SE Ranking Core | $129 a month | 10 projects, 2,000 daily keywords, API credits and an MCP server | You count projects and seats rather than index size |
| SEOMake | $49 a month | Audits that return the rewritten title, meta, outline and intro | The audit list already exists and nobody is working through it |
Semrush read 25 August 2026. Ahrefs read 24 August 2026 in its US dollar rendering. Moz read 9 August 2026. Ubersuggest read 23 August 2026. SE Ranking read 22 September 2026 from a United States connection, in dollars.
Where we fit is narrow and worth stating plainly, because it is not a like-for-like swap. SEOMake carries no link index and no keyword database, so nothing here replaces the reason most people pay Semrush. What we do is the step after the audit: read a live page against the keyword it should rank for and write the corrected title, meta description, heading outline and intro. If you have decided to leave rather than to budget, the Semrush alternative comparison covers the switch honestly. To see this ladder next to the other majors on one grid, SEO software pricing compared does that, and Ahrefs pricing and Ubersuggest pricing give the same treatment to the two tools most often shortlisted against it. If you are still choosing rather than budgeting, Semrush against Ahrefs compares them on data rather than on price.
The questions buyers actually ask about Semrush pricing
How much does Semrush cost per month?
Semrush costs $139 a month for SEO, $199 for Starter, $299 for Pro+ and $549 for Advanced, billed month to month, read off semrush.com/pricing on 25 August 2026. Paying annually drops those to $117.33, $165.17, $248.17 and $455.67 a month. Enterprise is quote-only.
How much is Semrush per month?
The plan most people mean is the entry tier, now called SEO, at $139 a month. That buys 5 websites to monitor and 500 keywords tracked daily. The tier most working teams land on is Pro+ at $299, which lifts those to 15 websites and 1,500 keywords and adds historical data.
What are the Semrush pricing plans?
The featured ladder is four plans plus a quote-only Enterprise tier: SEO at $139, Starter at $199, Pro+ at $299 and Advanced at $549 a month. The older Pro, Guru and Business names were not retired. They were moved under a second heading, SEO Classic, and are still priced at $139.95, $249.95 and $499.95 in Semrush knowledge base article 1547, read 16 September 2026.
What happened to Semrush Pro, Guru and Business?
Semrush renamed that ladder SEO Classic and put a new one, Semrush One, in front of it. Both are still sold. Matched on capacity, Pro pairs with SEO, Guru with Pro+ and Business with Advanced, and the Semrush One side costs a flat $49.05 a month more at each of the top two pairings. That gap is the AI visibility toolkit, not extra sites or keywords.
How much does Semrush cost per year?
Annual billing works out to $1,407.96 for SEO, $1,982.04 for Starter, $2,978.04 for Pro+ and $5,468.04 for Advanced. Against paying monthly that saves $260 on SEO and $1,120 on Advanced. Semrush advertises "save up to 17%", and the top three tiers hit exactly 17 percent while the SEO tier saves closer to 15.6 percent.
Why is Semrush so expensive?
Because you are buying breadth rather than one dataset. A single Semrush login covers keyword research, rank tracking, site audit, backlinks, advertising research, content tools and now AI visibility. Tools that do one of those well cost less. The price also stepped up in 2026 when AI visibility tracking was folded into every paid tier.
Is Semrush free?
There is a free account with hard daily caps, useful for looking up a handful of keywords and not much else. It is not a working plan: project allowances, tracked keywords and report exports are all restricted. Semrush also runs a paid-plan trial, described on its own site as "Try Semrush free for seven days. Cancel anytime."
Does Semrush have a free trial?
Yes on three of the four plans. SEO, Starter and Pro+ all carry a "Try for free" button, and Semrush states seven days with cancellation any time. Advanced is the exception: its card shows Subscribe rather than a trial button, so the top published tier has to be bought outright or arranged as a custom plan.
Which Semrush plan is best for a small agency?
Pro+ at $299 a month is the usual answer, because the jump from 5 monitored websites to 15 is what a client roster actually needs. Semrush lists this as a real question in its own pricing FAQ. Below that, the 5-website ceiling on SEO and Starter caps you at about four clients plus your own site.
Does Semrush charge extra for additional users?
Yes. Every published plan is priced for one login, and extra seats start at $45 a month each. A three-person team on Pro+ is therefore $389 a month rather than $299. Seat cost is the line item most budget comparisons leave out, and it scales with headcount rather than with usage.
What does the step from the SEO plan to Starter buy?
Only AI visibility, for $60 a month. Websites stay at 5 and tracked keywords stay at 500. What Starter adds is 50 prompts tracked daily, one domain for AI brand performance, 300 AI visibility reports a day, an AI-ready site audit and MCP access. If you do not need AI search data, that $60 buys you no extra capacity at all.
Which Semrush plan includes API access?
Advanced at $549 a month is the only published tier whose plan copy names API data integration, and Enterprise adds custom integrations. Note that plan access and API units are billed separately, so the subscription alone does not give you a working data pipeline. The full breakdown sits on our Semrush API pricing page.
How much does Semrush Enterprise cost?
Semrush does not publish an Enterprise price. The tier is sold as "Custom pricing available" behind a demo request, and it covers unlimited projects, custom AI prompt tracking, multi-million-page crawling, SSO and audit logs, a dedicated account manager and an SLA. Budget for a negotiated annual contract rather than a card payment.
Is Semrush cheaper than Ahrefs?
At the entry tier Ahrefs is $10 cheaper, at $129 against $139, but it tracks 750 keywords to Semrush's 500. Compare where teams actually land and Semrush Pro+ at $299 sits above Ahrefs Standard at $249, though Pro+ monitors 15 sites and tracks 1,500 keywords daily where Ahrefs updates positions weekly on every tier.
Can I cancel Semrush at any time?
Yes. Semrush states on its pricing page that you can cancel, downgrade or upgrade at any time, with one exception: accounts on custom terms under a signed agreement. That makes a monthly subscription a genuinely low-commitment test, and it is the main argument for starting monthly rather than taking the annual discount immediately.
Whatever you pay Semrush, the fixes still need writing
