Audit my page
01 / FOR WORDPRESS

AI SEO tools for WordPress and an AI SEO plugin companion that publishes fixes to Yoast SEO or Rank Math

SEOMake audits the posts and pages you already published, writes the title and meta description each one should have for its keyword, and after you approve, puts them straight into the Yoast SEO or Rank Math fields through the WordPress REST API. Every change is logged and can be undone in one click. Try one page below, then connect the site on any paid plan from $49 a month.

02 / The short answer

The AI in your SEO plugin writes a title when you ask, and SEOMake decides which pages need one

Yoast SEO Premium, Rank Math Content AI, AIOSEO and SEOPress all put an AI button in the post editor. Open a post, click, and you get a suggested SEO title and meta description. That works when you are writing something new. It does very little for the 140 posts already live, because someone still has to work out which of them are close to page one, what each should rank for, and then open them one at a time.

SEOMake works from the other end. You give it a page and its keyword, it compares the live page with what ranks, scores it, and writes the corrected title, meta description, outline, opening and missing sections. When you approve the fix, the title and meta go into the same Yoast or Rank Math fields the editor uses. WordPress answers with what it stored, SEOMake checks it matches, and the change log keeps the old values for undo.

Your plugin stays. It still owns sitemaps, schema and canonicals. SEOMake supplies the words and the order of work.

03 / How it connects

How SEOMake publishes to Yoast SEO and Rank Math in four steps

  1. 01

    Create an application password

    In WordPress, open Users, Profile, Application Passwords and create one for an Editor or Administrator. It is scoped to that user and you revoke it on the same screen. No plugin to install from us.

  2. 02

    Open the SEO fields to the API

    Yoast SEO and Rank Math keep their title and description fields away from the REST API by default. A six-line snippet, added once with the Code Snippets plugin or in functions.php, registers them.

  3. 03

    Audit and approve

    Run audits on the pages that matter. Each fix shows the evidence, the new title and the new meta. An owner or approver signs it off, or rejects it with a reason SEOMake uses on the next audit of that site.

  4. 04

    Published, checked, logged

    SEOMake finds the post or page by its address, writes both fields, reads back what WordPress stored and records the old values. If the stored text differs, it reports that instead of calling it done.

The snippet that opens the Yoast and Rank Math fields

This is the whole thing. It registers the two Yoast keys and the two Rank Math keys on posts and pages, and only users who can edit posts can write them. Paste it once per site. Without it WordPress silently drops unknown fields, which is why SEOMake checks the fields exist before it writes anything and tells you plainly when they do not.

Connections work per site, so an agency adds each client site once and the approvals stay separate. You can also mark pages as off limits, for example the pricing page legal has signed off, and SEOMake will not crawl, audit or publish to them.

add_action('init', function () {
    foreach (['_yoast_wpseo_title', '_yoast_wpseo_metadesc', 'rank_math_title', 'rank_math_description'] as $key) {
        foreach (['post', 'page'] as $type) {
            register_post_meta($type, $key, ['show_in_rest' => true, 'single' => true, 'type' => 'string',
                'auth_callback' => fn () => current_user_can('edit_posts')]);
        }
    }
});
04 / AI SEO tools for WordPress compared

Best AI SEO tool for WordPress by what the AI writes and who picks the pages

Every option below can produce an AI title and meta description. The difference is where the work starts: in an editor, one post at a time, or from an audit of the pages that are already live.

AI SEO tools for WordPress compared: Yoast SEO Premium, Rank Math Content AI, AIOSEO, SEOPress PRO and SEOMake on what the AI writes, who picks the pages, price and who each suits
Tool What the AI writes Who picks the pages Price Best for
Yoast SEO Premium Titles and meta descriptions inside the post editor You open each post and click generate $118.80 a year per site One site already on Yoast
Rank Math Content AI Meta, long-form drafts, SEO test fixes, links You run it post by post, monthly use limits Plugin from 7.99 a month plus Content AI from 4.99 Owners who live in the editor
AIOSEO AI titles, descriptions, FAQs on a credit balance You, in the editor, while credits last $49.50 first year, $99 at renewal Small sites wanting one bundle
SEOPress PRO Titles, descriptions, alt text via AI credits or your own key You, in the editor or by bulk action $49 a year, AI credits from $19 a month Agencies on unlimited-site licenses
SEOMake Scored audit of the live page, then the new title, meta, outline, opening and missing sections It ranks pages by need, you approve, it publishes the title and meta to Yoast or Rank Math $49 a month, unlimited audits Fixing the pages that already rank 5 to 30

Plugin prices read on each vendor's pricing page from a US connection on 7 October 2026, Rank Math Content AI on 27 September 2026. Rank Math shows the same numerals in dollars or euros depending on where it places you, so its figures are printed bare. Where the plugins win is plain: if you write two new posts a week and want the suggestion while you type, the button in the editor is quicker than any outside tool, and SEOPress lets you bring your own AI key. Plan by plan detail on Yoast SEO Premium price, Rank Math pricing, AIOSEO pricing and SEOPress pricing.

05 / Which pages first

WordPress AI SEO pays off on pages that already rank 5 to 30, not on new drafts

A post on page three needs more than a new title. A post at position 9 with 2,000 impressions a month often needs exactly that, plus an opening that answers the query in two sentences. Moving it to position 4 typically multiplies its clicks several times over with no new content at all. Those pages are where an AI SEO tool earns its fee.

The plugin buttons cannot see that. They work inside one post with no idea how it performs. SEOMake starts from the URL and the keyword you pick (most teams take them from Search Console's pages report, filtered to positions 5 to 30), so the first fixes you approve are the ones most likely to show up in traffic within weeks.

Each audit also lists what the title alone will not fix: missing subtopics, a format mismatch, a stale price. Those come back as a corrected outline and a 400 to 700 word draft on paid plans, ready for an editor to place in the post. If a whole section of the site has slipped, the content refresh tool page walks through that version of the job.

06 / Who connects WordPress

Who buys an AI SEO tool for WordPress sites they already run

Agencies with client sites

Each client site gets its own connection, approver and off-limits list. Audits are not tied to a site count, so client twelve adds no tool cost. More on SEO software for agencies.

WooCommerce stores

Buying guides and blog posts on WordPress pages and posts. Product titles in WooCommerce are a different object, so those stay in the store editor. See WooCommerce SEO.

B2B content teams

Comparison, integration and use case pages that sit at 8 to 20 and drive demos. A writer reviews, a lead approves, SEOMake publishes and logs who did what.

Owners without a writer

A services site with 30 pages written years ago. Starter covers 20 drafted fixes a month for $49, with audits unlimited.

07 / What it costs across sites

AI SEO plugin cost for ten WordPress sites compared with one SEOMake plan

Plugin AI is priced per site, and at renewal it gets dearer. Ten sites on Yoast SEO Premium is $1,188 a year. AIOSEO Pro covers ten sites for $199.50 in year one, then $399. Rank Math needs the Business license for client sites, 299.88 a year rising to 335.88, plus Content AI on top. SEOPress is the cheapest license at $149 a year for unlimited sites, but its AI runs on credits from $19 a month or on your own AI provider account.

SEOMake Starter is $49 a month, or $490 a year when paid yearly, and its audits do not count sites. You keep whichever plugin license you already pay for, because SEOMake writes into its fields rather than replacing it. The full per-site math for agencies is in our post on the best AI SEO plugin for WordPress agencies.

Plans are Starter $49 a month with 20 drafts, Growth $149 with 100 and Agency $499 with 500. Publishing to WordPress comes with every paid plan. Details on SEOMake pricing.

08 / What it does not do

Where SEOMake stops and your WordPress plugin carries on

Title and meta only

Publishing writes the SEO title and meta description. Outlines, openings and drafted sections come back for an editor to place, because body copy on a ranking page deserves a human pass.

Yoast SEO or Rank Math

On WordPress the fields are written through one of those two plugins. On AIOSEO, SEOPress or another CMS you copy the fix, or send it to your own system with a signed webhook.

Not the home page title

The home page title lives in the plugin settings, not on a post, so it is shown as a fix to paste rather than published.

No schema or sitemaps

Structured data, XML sitemaps, redirects and canonicals stay with your plugin. SEOMake does not touch them.

Running on Shopify instead? The same approve and publish flow writes the search engine listing fields of products, collections, pages and blog articles; see AI SEO tools for Shopify.

Every published change keeps the previous title and meta, so a fix that does not perform can be rolled back.
09 / Asked and answered

AI SEO for WordPress questions buyers ask before they connect a site

What is the best AI SEO plugin for WordPress?

For writing titles in the editor, Yoast SEO Premium and Rank Math Content AI are the two most used, and AIOSEO and SEOPress offer the same on credits. None of them decides which of your live pages to fix. If that is the bottleneck, pair your plugin with SEOMake, which audits each page and publishes the approved title and meta into Yoast or Rank Math.

Can AI do SEO for WordPress?

AI can do the analysis and the first draft well: compare a page with the results that rank, spot the missing subtopics, and write a sharper title, meta description and opening. A person should still approve changes on pages that earn traffic. SEOMake is built that way, with an approval step and a change log you can undo.

Does Yoast SEO have AI?

Yes. Yoast SEO Premium, $118.80 a year per site, includes AI generation of titles and meta descriptions inside the post editor, and the AI+ bundle adds brand tracking in AI assistants. You still open each post and trigger it yourself. SEOMake can write into the same Yoast fields from outside WordPress after you approve the fix.

Does Rank Math use AI?

Yes, through Content AI, a separate annual subscription that starts at 4.99 a month and renews at 6.99. It covers an SEO meta tool, long-form drafts, link suggestions and fixes for its own SEO tests, each with a monthly use limit. SEOMake publishes into the Rank Math title and description fields too, so the two can sit side by side.

Is there an AI SEO tool for WordPress that publishes changes automatically?

Yes. SEOMake connects to WordPress with an application password and writes the approved SEO title and meta description into Yoast SEO or Rank Math, then reads the stored value back to confirm it. Automatic publishing per site is off by default, so an owner or approver signs off each change unless you turn it on.

How much do AI SEO tools for WordPress cost?

Prices read on 7 October 2026: Yoast SEO Premium $118.80 a year per site, Rank Math PRO 7.99 a month billed yearly plus Content AI from 4.99, AIOSEO Basic $49.50 for the first year and $99 at renewal, SEOPress PRO $49 a year plus AI credits from $19 a month. SEOMake is $49 a month with unlimited audits.

Are AI-written meta descriptions bad for SEO?

No, as long as they are accurate and written for the query. Google rewrites many meta descriptions anyway, and it judges the page, not who typed the snippet. What hurts is a generic description that could sit on any page. SEOMake writes each one from the audit of that page and the query it should win.

Do I still need Yoast or Rank Math if I use SEOMake?

Yes. SEOMake does not replace the plugin. Yoast or Rank Math still handles sitemaps, schema, canonical tags and the fields themselves. SEOMake decides what each page should say, writes it, and fills those fields after approval, so you keep the plugin you already know.
