SEO content optimization tools cost per page compared for batches of 10, 30 and 100 pages

SEO content optimization tools cost $40 to $399 a month at entry and team level. Per document, Surfer is the cheapest at about 49 cents. Per finished page the order changes, because Surfer and PageOptimizer Pro score a draft you still write, while Frase, Clearscope and SEOMake draft the content. For 30 live pages, the tools that draft cost $129 to $399 a month and save one to two hours of writing per page.

Every price below was read on the vendors' own pricing pages on 6 October 2026 from a US connection. The pages ranking for this topic are ranked lists with one price per plan. None of them divides the price by what the plan includes, and none prices a real batch of pages. We sell one of these tools, so we also say where the others are the better buy.

What SEO content optimization tools charge per month

There are two kinds of tool in this category, and they price differently.

Surfer lists Discovery at $59 a month, or $49 billed yearly, with 120 documents to create or optimize and 10 tracked pages. Standard is $119 and Pro $219. Its page stores prices in US dollars and showed our connection the same numerals with a euro sign, so expect the symbol to follow your location.

PageOptimizer Pro sells Basic at $40 a month with 20 credits that are shared across reports, the AI Writer and its other tools. Unlimited is $72 a month or $62 billed yearly, which is $739 a year, and removes the cap on reports. Teams is $143 a month or $119 yearly with five sub-accounts, and extra seats are $12 a month.

Clearscope is $129 a month for Essentials with 20 drafts, and $399 for Business with 50. Users and projects are unlimited on both, which matters if clients log in.

Frase is $49 a month, or $39 yearly, for one site and 10 articles. Professional is $129 ($103 yearly) for 40 articles and 250 audit pages, with extra articles at $5. Scale is $299 ($239) for 100 articles.

SEOMake is $49 a month with 20 drafted page rewrites, $149 with 100 and $499 with 500, and audits are unlimited on every plan. It is built for pages that are already live; the SEO content optimizer page compares it with the editors above in more detail.

SEO content optimization tools cost for 10, 30 and 100 pages

A content project is never one page. Here is the cheapest monthly plan on each tool that covers three common batch sizes, at monthly list prices.

Cheapest monthly plan to optimize 10, 30 and 100 pages with Surfer, PageOptimizer Pro, Frase, Clearscope and SEOMake
Tool 10 pages 30 pages 100 pages
Surfer Discovery (you write) $59 $59 $59
PageOptimizer Pro Unlimited (you write) $72 $72 $72
Frase, articles drafted $49 (Starter) $129 (Professional) $299 (Scale)
Clearscope, AI drafts $129 (Essentials) $399 (Business) $399 plus extra drafts
SEOMake, page rewrites drafted $49 (Starter) $149 (Growth) $149 (Growth)

On the subscription alone, the scoring editors win at every size, and Surfer is hard to beat for a team of writers who will do the work anyway. The drafting tools climb with volume because their quotas are what you pay for. SEOMake stays at $149 from 30 to 100 pages because Growth includes 100 rewrites.

The cost per page once writing time is counted

The subscription is the smaller number. Take 30 pages and an in-house writer at $50 an hour. With a scoring editor, rewriting an existing page to a green score usually takes two to three hours: reading the competitors, restructuring, adding the sections. Call it 2.5 hours, or $125 a page. With a tool that drafts the fix, the job becomes editing and fact-checking, closer to an hour, or $50 a page.

Frase and SEOMake land within $20 of each other at 30 pages. The difference is what they produce: Frase drafts articles from its quota, while SEOMake audits the live URL and rewrites the parts that are wrong, which is less editing on a page that already has good material. Clearscope sits slightly higher and brings the editor that most editorial teams already know.

Getting a page to rank is half the job. A comparison or service page that climbs to page one still has to convince the reader, and real customer quotes do more there than another paragraph of features; a tool that collects and displays customer testimonials covers that part without a developer.

When a scoring editor is the better buy

Choose Surfer or PageOptimizer Pro when you mostly write new posts, have writers who are paid per article anyway, and want a precise target for term coverage. PageOptimizer Pro gives very granular term counts; Surfer's editor is the easiest to hand to freelancers. Our Surfer alternatives page covers the trade-offs plan by plan.

When a tool that drafts the fix is the better buy

Choose a drafting tool when the backlog is existing pages sitting between positions 8 and 30 and nobody has three hours per page. Agencies doing monthly on-page work across clients get the most from it, because the hours, not the subscription, decide the margin; our page on SEO software for agencies prices the rest of that stack. If the pages were ranking well and slid, the content refresh tool page walks through the same job from the decay side.

SEOMake costs $49 a month for 20 drafted rewrites, $149 for 100 and $499 for 500, or ten months' price for a year. See SEOMake pricing.

SEO content optimization tools pricing questions buyers ask

How much do SEO content optimization tools cost?

Monthly list prices read on 6 October 2026 start at $40 for PageOptimizer Pro Basic, $49 for Frase Starter and SEOMake Starter, $59 for Surfer Discovery and $129 for Clearscope Essentials. Team and agency plans run $119 to $499 a month. Paying yearly cuts most of them by 15 to 20 percent.

What is the cheapest content optimization tool per page?

Per document, Surfer Discovery at about 49 cents, because the $59 plan includes 120 documents. That figure covers the editor and score only. If you count the writing, a tool that drafts the fix usually costs less per finished page, because an hour of editing is cheaper than two or three hours of rewriting.

Is Surfer or Clearscope better for agencies?

Surfer is cheaper per document and its higher tiers add more seats, which suits agencies with many writers. Clearscope costs more but includes unlimited users and projects on every plan, which suits teams where many client stakeholders need access. Neither rewrites a live page for you; both score the draft your writer produces.

Do I need a content optimization tool if I have Semrush or Ahrefs?

Not always. Semrush includes its SEO Writing Assistant on Guru ($249.95) and Business, but Pro users get two documents per account for life. Ahrefs sells its AI content tools separately from the core rank and backlink data. If your work is fixing existing pages, a dedicated optimizer saves more time than a suite feature.

How many pages can one person optimize a month?

With a scoring editor, an experienced writer reworks two to four existing pages a day. With a tool that drafts the fix, the same person edits and publishes six to ten. That difference, not the subscription price, is usually what decides the cost per page.

Prices were read on 6 October 2026 from each vendor's published pricing; the Semrush Writing Assistant plan gate from Semrush's knowledge base on 18 September 2026. Writer hours are a worked assumption. Vendor prices change without notice, so confirm with the vendor before you buy.
