SE Ranking alternative: SE Ranking pricing, competitors and the add-ons that change the bill

Every current SE Ranking price read off its own page on 31 August 2026, the add-ons that are not in the headline number, and the five alternatives worth a real look depending on why you are leaving. While you read, point the audit at a page you actually care about.

No account. No card. Real output in about 20 seconds.

02 / The short answer

The right SE Ranking alternative depends on which part you are replacing

SE Ranking Core is €109 a month, or €87.20 billed annually, and Growth is €235 or €188. If you are leaving for research depth, Semrush at $139 is the upgrade. For backlinks, Ahrefs at $129. For a cheaper full suite, Moz Pro at $99. For white-label client audits on their own, SEOptimer at $29 is a fraction of the cost. The catch nobody quotes is the add-on stack: white-label reporting and AI search tracking are sold separately, and the white-label pack cannot be bought monthly at all.

That is the detail that decides most switching decisions. SE Ranking advertises €87.20 a month, which is genuinely cheap for 10 projects and 2,000 keywords refreshed daily. An agency that needs client-facing reports adds the Agency Pack at €59, and one that wants to see whether its clients appear in ChatGPT adds AI Search at €63.20. That is €209.40 a month, or €2,512.80 a year, which is 2.4 times the number on the pricing card.

The second thing to check before you switch is whether you are comparing against the right plans at all. SE Ranking retired the Essential, Pro and Business tiers and replaced them with Core, Growth and a quoted Enterprise. A large share of the comparison content still ranking on this query was written against the old names, and the feature mapping is not one to one, because several things that used to be included are now add-ons.

Every SE Ranking figure read off seranking.com/subscription.html on 31 August 2026 and cross-checked against the page source. SE Ranking geolocates its pricing and served euros with no option to force dollars, so its figures are quoted in euros and not converted. Competitor prices as noted in each section.

03 / SE Ranking pricing

SE Ranking pricing plans after the restructure

Two self-serve plans and one quoted tier. The annual column is what SE Ranking shows as the effective monthly rate on yearly billing, a straight 20 percent off, and the yearly total is that figure multiplied out. Both check exactly: €109 less 20 percent is €87.20, and €235 less 20 percent is €188.

Plan Monthly Yearly, per month Billed yearly Projects Seats Keywords
Core €109.00 €87.20 €1,046.40 10 1 2,000 daily
Growth €235.00 €188.00 €2,256.00 30 3 5,000 daily
Enterprise By quote By quote By quote Custom Custom Custom

What each plan actually allows

The two rows at the bottom of this grid are the ones that catch agencies out, so they are worth reading before the price.

Limit Core Growth
Projects 10 30
Manager seats 1 3
Keywords tracked daily 2,000 5,000
AI prompts tracked daily 100 250
Domains in GEO research 5 Higher, not itemized
Pages per month in audit 250,000 2 million
Keyword research database 17,500 50,000
API credits per month 25,000 100,000
MCP access Included Included
White-label reporting Add-on only Add-on only
AI search tracking Add-on only Add-on only

Taken on its own the keyword tracking here is very strong value. Two thousand keywords refreshed daily on the entry plan is more than Moz Pro Standard allows in a month, and it is the single reason most SE Ranking customers stay. If daily tracking across a big list is the whole job, read the rest of this page as a cost exercise rather than a switching argument.

04 / The part not in the headline

The add-ons, and what an agency setup really costs

SE Ranking sells seven things on top of the plan. Two of them, white-label reporting and AI search tracking, are the features people most often assume are included, and both change the bill materially. Note the middle column: several add-ons are available on annual billing only, so choosing them removes monthly billing as an option entirely.

Add-on Price per month Billing What it covers
Agency Pack €59.00 Annual billing only White-label reporting, client-facing tools, 30 client projects
AI Search €79.00 €63.20 on annual billing Brand visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode, from 200 prompts
API €39.00 Annual billing only Raises included API credits, sold in bands from 3 million to 60 million
Data API, standalone €155.00 and up Annual billing only 12 million backlinks and 120,000 domains at the entry band, volume discounts above
Extra manager seat From €14.40 Per seat, per month Added on top of the 1 seat on Core or 3 on Growth
Extra tracked keywords From €20.80 Per block, per month Two published blocks, €20.80 and €30.40
Extra content articles From €39.20 Per block, per month For the content writing module

Three realistic bills

One site, no client reporting

€87.20

Core on annual billing and nothing else, which is €1,046.40 a year. This is the number on the pricing card and it is a fair price for 10 projects and 2,000 daily keywords.

Agency, white label plus AI tracking

€209.40

Core at €87.20, Agency Pack at €59 and AI Search at €63.20, all on annual billing because the Agency Pack requires it. That is €2,512.80 a year, or 2.4 times the headline.

Multi-client agency with API access

€310.20

Growth at €188, Agency Pack at €59 and AI Search at €63.20, which is €3,722.40 a year. Adding the API add-on at €39 takes it to €349.20 a month.

The annual-billing constraint deserves a sentence of its own, because it is unusual. Most vendors let you buy add-ons monthly at a premium. SE Ranking does not sell the Agency Pack on monthly billing at all, so an agency that wants client-facing reports is committing to twelve months up front on the whole stack. If you are trialing SE Ranking specifically to evaluate its client reporting, the 14-day trial will not show it to you, because the trial covers the base plan only.

The AI Search add-on is the newer one and the more interesting. At €63.20 a month on annual billing it tracks brand visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, starting at 200 prompts. That is a real capability and it is priced honestly for what it is. It is worth knowing that Core already includes 100 AI prompts a day for tracking and 5 domains of GEO research inside the base plan, so check what you actually need before adding it.

05 / The alternatives

Six SE Ranking alternatives, and what each one is genuinely better at

These are the tools people actually move to, not a list padded out to ten. Prices are the published entry tier in the currency each vendor served us. Every one of these is better than SE Ranking at something and worse at something else, and the third column is the part most roundups leave out.

Tool From Better than SE Ranking at Worse at
Semrush $139 Deepest keyword and competitor data of the group, the default agency answer Costs more than double SE Ranking Core once you add seats
Ahrefs $129 The strongest link index in the category by a clear margin Credit-metered, and the entry plan is thin on tracked keywords
Moz Pro $99 Domain Authority, the metric most client reports are still built on 300 tracked keywords a month on the entry tier, against 2,000 daily on SE Ranking Core
Seobility Free, then €50 Genuinely usable free tier for a single small site No serious keyword research, and the crawl caps arrive quickly
SEOptimer $29 Cheapest white-label audit report in the category Report generator rather than a platform, white labeling starts at $39
Ubersuggest $29 Cheapest paid entry point and a lifetime option Data depth is well below the others, and support is thin

Semrush, Ahrefs and Moz prices re-verified 30 August 2026. Seobility, SEOptimer and Ubersuggest read 12 to 23 August 2026. Seobility publishes euro and dollar figures itself and quotes plus VAT.

One name deliberately missing from that table is Similarweb, which appears on most SE Ranking alternative lists. It is a traffic intelligence product sold on enterprise contracts rather than a rank tracker, so putting it next to a €87 plan is not a comparison anyone can act on. The full ladder for the larger suites, including cost per tracked keyword, is on our SEO software pricing comparison, and the head-to-head most people arrive looking for is Moz alternatives compared, including SE Ranking versus Moz Pro.

06 / Pick by reason

Which one to move to, by the reason you are actually leaving

The bill went up after the plan restructure

Before you move, price the pieces. If the increase came from the Agency Pack, SEOptimer does white-label audit reports from $29 and $39 with white labeling, which is cheaper than the €59 add-on on its own. If it came from AI Search, check whether the 100 daily prompts already inside Core cover you. Moving platforms to solve an add-on problem is the expensive way to fix it.

The backlink data is not deep enough

This is the most common genuine reason and there is one answer: Ahrefs, from $129 a month. Its link index is the largest in the category and nothing in SE Ranking's range closes that gap. If you only need link data and not a platform, Majestic is the specialist and we compare it in Majestic versus Semrush on backlink data.

You need client reporting on a monthly contract

SE Ranking cannot do this, because the Agency Pack is annual only. If committing twelve months up front is the blocker rather than the price, that is a hard constraint and it is worth switching over. The audit-first tools that do sell white labeling monthly are compared on our Seobility, WooRank and SEOptimer alternatives page.

You want the research depth of a bigger suite

Semrush is the honest answer and it costs roughly double. Whether the extra data pays for itself depends on how much competitor research you genuinely run, which for a lot of teams is less than they think. We work through the tiers and what each unlocks on Semrush pricing, and the cheaper ways into the same job on cheaper alternatives to Semrush.

Your reporting runs on Domain Authority

Then you are buying Moz and the comparison is short, because Domain Authority is proprietary and no other vendor can give it to you. Moz Pro Standard is $99 a month. Be aware that its 300 tracked keywords a month is a large step down from 2,000 daily, so budget for a higher tier. Full ladder on our Moz pricing page.

The audit tells you what is wrong but not what to write

This one is not solved by any tool on the list above, which is the gap we built for. SE Ranking, Semrush, Ahrefs and Moz all hand you a scored list of issues. Writing the corrected title tag, meta description and heading outline is still yours. That is the part we do, and it is covered in the next section.

07 / Where we fit

We are not an SE Ranking replacement, and the gap is worth naming

SE Ranking is a research and monitoring platform with an index behind it: daily rank tracking, keyword and competitor databases, backlink monitoring, site crawling. We hold none of that. We do not track rankings, we run no link index and we do not crawl sites on a schedule. If daily position data across 2,000 keywords is what you are paying for, you are buying SE Ranking or one of the six alternatives above, and this page is here to help you pick between them rather than to argue you out of it.

What we do is the step after the audit. Seomake reads a live page against the keyword it should rank for and writes the corrected title tag, meta description, heading outline, opening paragraph and the keyword gaps, as copy you can paste straight into the CMS. Every platform on this page ends at a prioritized list of problems. We start there and produce the fix.

For most teams the sensible shape is one monitoring subscription plus something cheap that turns findings into copy, rather than paying a research platform for a writing capability it does not really have. Our ladder is $49, $149 and $499 a month, published in full on our pricing page, and page audits are unlimited on every tier because we do not meter them.

08 / Asked and answered

SE Ranking alternatives and pricing, question by question

What is the best SE Ranking alternative?

It depends which part of SE Ranking you are replacing. For keyword and competitor research, Semrush at $139 a month is the direct upgrade. For backlinks, Ahrefs at $129. For a cheaper full suite, Moz Pro at $99. For white-label client audits alone, SEOptimer at $29 undercuts the SE Ranking Agency Pack comfortably.

How much does SE Ranking cost?

SE Ranking Core is €109 a month on monthly billing, or €87.20 a month billed annually, which is €1,046.40 a year. Growth is €235 a month, or €188 billed annually, which is €2,256 a year. Enterprise is quoted. SE Ranking geolocates its pricing page and served us euros with no option to switch to dollars.

What are the SE Ranking pricing plans?

There are two self-serve plans and one quoted tier. Core covers 10 projects, 1 manager seat and 2,000 keywords tracked daily. Growth covers 30 projects, 3 seats and 5,000 keywords daily. Enterprise is custom. The older Essential, Pro and Business plans were retired, so any comparison still using those names is out of date.

Why did SE Ranking prices go up?

SE Ranking replaced its three legacy tiers with the Core and Growth structure and moved several features into paid add-ons at the same time. Customers migrating off an old Essential or Pro plan can land on a higher bill for the same workflow, because white-label reporting and AI search tracking are no longer inside the base price.

Does SE Ranking include white label reporting?

Not in the base plan. White-label reporting sits in the Agency Pack add-on at €59 a month, and that add-on is sold on annual billing only. So an agency cannot buy white labeling on a rolling monthly contract at all, which is the constraint most people discover after signing up for the trial.

How much is SE Ranking for an agency?

More than the headline. Core billed annually is €87.20 a month, the Agency Pack adds €59 and AI Search adds €63.20, so a white-labeled agency setup with AI tracking is €209.40 a month, or €2,512.80 a year. That is 2.4 times the advertised entry price, before any extra seats.

How much does the SE Ranking API cost?

Two separate things carry the API name. The API add-on is €39 a month on annual billing and raises the credits included with your plan, which are 25,000 a month on Core and 100,000 on Growth. The standalone Data API starts at €155 a month for 12 million backlinks and 120,000 domains, with volume discounts above that.

Is SE Ranking cheaper than Semrush?

On the base plan, clearly yes: Core at €87.20 a month billed annually against Semrush Pro at $139. Once you add the Agency Pack and AI Search the gap narrows to roughly €209 against $139, and Semrush includes AI visibility tracking in its higher tiers rather than selling it separately. Compare like for like before you switch.

Does SE Ranking have a free trial?

Yes. SE Ranking offers a fully functional 14-day trial with no credit card required on both Core and Growth. Note that the trial covers the base plan, so it will not show you the white-label reporting or the AI search tracking you may actually be evaluating, because both of those are separate paid add-ons.

Is SE Ranking good for keyword tracking?

It is the strongest part of the product and the main reason to stay. Core tracks 2,000 keywords daily for €87.20 a month billed annually. Moz Pro Standard tracks 300 a month for $99. If daily refresh across a large keyword list is the job, SE Ranking wins that arithmetic against every alternative on this page.

What replaced SE Ranking Essential and Pro plans?

Core replaced the lower legacy tiers and Growth replaced the upper ones, with Enterprise added above. The mapping is not one to one, because features that used to sit inside Pro or Business now sit in add-ons. Check the Agency Pack and AI Search lines against your old plan before assuming your renewal is comparable.

Is SE Ranking worth it in 2026?

It is worth it if daily rank tracking across thousands of keywords is your core job and you can live on annual billing. It is a harder sell for an agency that needs white labeling, because that is annual-only and pushes the real cost past €200 a month, and for anyone who needs deep backlink data, where Ahrefs is a clear step up.
